Troop 496, celebrating over 25 years in South Florida Council, draws it's troop number from the date we were formed: April of 1996 (4-96).
Our troop distinguishes itself as known for being very active in the outdoors. During the camping season of less oppressive humidity and mosquitos, we often are on camping trips twice a month, with at least one multi-night canoeing campout per year. We are also known for our hiking. Each season taking progressively longer and more challenging hikes, including at least one night hike, culminating in out most experienced hikers meeting the mentally and physically challenging annual Barefoot Mailman Hike...
